Seeing beneath the surface with 3D OCT scanning

We have a 3D OCT scanner: technology which helps us see much more detail inside your eye.  Screening with the OCT - Optical Coherance Tomography - is similar to ultrasound, but it uses light, rather than sound waves.  The scan gives us a very detailed picture of the different layers that make up your eye.  We see both a photograph and a cross-section of your eye.  The scans are simple, quick, and painless.

These advanced scans are able to detect very early changes inside your eye.  Signs of glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration, for example, can be detected much earlier.  Earlier diagnosis aids the treatment of these conditions.

Having a scan when you have your sight test, or any other time that is convenient to you, is a really great way to safeguard the health of your eyes.  You can book a scan by ringing us, 0191 5842226.
